Razer's latest invention is a mouse with "gaming grade wireless" that has the nifty feature of also being capable of using a wire.

Now I have a wire... and, now I don't!

The new Razer Mamba has a wireless transmitter for the freedom of being cordless but also comes equipped with an attachable USB cable so that you can use it wired if you so choose.

When in wireless mode it's supposed to be a lot better than your standard wireless rodent, according to the folks at Razer.  Toting a <1ms response time is a good reassurance that if you ever wanted to use it in wireless mode, it might not be that terrible.  In fact, it would be near unnoticeable compared to a wire.

Nonetheless, the claim of "gaming grade wireless" should be taken lightly, as obviously if the mouse is designed to support a cable, that alone should be enough for you to realize that any real gaming is always done over a wire.  But if for some reason when gaming, you just have to have wireless, this is the best way to do it.

However, even if the wireless performance is perfectly lagless, this mouse will still have the same problem as every other wireless mouse; due to the batteries, it will weigh much more than a normal mouse.  That alone is enough to ensure that I will never personally use this even with the wire-- but for those of you who are interested in wireless capability but still want to game, this is your mouse.

I just bought this yesterday and I'm loving it so far. The response is amazing both wireless and wired.  I'll write up a review or something in about a week once I test the macro features and stuff more.
