Water runs swiftly
Through tired hands
Tired hands work endlessly to catch the water that escapes them
Cold water runs through tired hands
These tired hands
Made to grasp
Made to feel
Cannot grasp anything
Cannot hold onto anything
With everything so delicate
Tired hands cannot touch them
They reach to help, only to aid
Delicate things shriek back
Tired hands retract, and clasp together in shame
No longer able to hold onto anything
Tired hands cry, and hold themselves in sadness
Never trusting what they held
Never trusting what held them
Tired hands retract, and hold themselves
All that’s left to hold
Hard and brittle, calloused to feeling
Tired hands let everything go
Tired hands once held what they loved,
And now hold only each other
Tired hands once loved
And now, tired hands
These tired hands of mine
Hold all that’s left.

Me likey.  Great end to the poem and an awesome little segment.  The line "They reach to help, only to aid" didn't really make sense to me though.

Also, did you watch never-ending story recently?  I THINK YOU DID!
