I’ll always look beyond the pain
Because my eyes see you clearly
I thought I’d have to explain
That I’ve missed you dearly
But what I’ve found is not the same thing
That I thought I once knew.
Who would have thought that I would fall?
And give my whole life to you.

I tell myself to lose the thought of you
But I’m surrounded by the choices I haven’t made
Life seems so much simpler,
To wish I wouldn’t have stayed
And as I watch my life replay,
In an old-fashioned movie style,
I’m reminded that it would have best another way

I tell myself the right things,
As I cry myself to sleep.
When I dream, I dream of you
And I cry when I awake,
To find that dreams are something you can’t keep.

I tell myself to lose the thought of you
But I’m surrounded by the choices I haven’t made
Life seems so much simpler,
To wish I wouldn’t have stayed
And as I watch my life replay,
In an old-fashioned movie style,
I’m reminded that it would have best another way

Promises mean so much,
At 2a.m. when I see nothing but the present;
When things seem smaller,
And appear to revolve around you.
For once in my life, I swear I’ll see something through
And if that means renouncing my ways,
I’ll gladly do it, in acceptance of your face

I can’t tell myself to lose the thought of you,
And I’m surrounded by the choices I can make.
And life is much simpler
Having stayed here right beside you
I turn of the screen with my life’s replay,
And forget what I might have been,
In favor of the person now: the person with you until the end.

I liked that part.  The repeated stanza seems ... repetitious.  But otherwise good work as usual.  You're churning this stuff out like butter lately man, haha.

i only have the one stanza  twice in the work, the last part is altered completely. and ya lately its been more on the surface. this is my attempt at a more rhyming/lyric-y piece. eh.
