My Favorite Song of the Moment is currently
"She Wants Revenge - Someone Must Get Hurt".
Download the song here.About a year ago, I was down in Springfield visiting my good friend Daniel at his college. I think I was helping him move in or something, I don't really remember.
What I do remember is that he played me a song named "Tear You Apart" from a band called "She Wants Revenge". It was funky, clean, and dance-able, yet somehow emotional and well written. It wasn't cheesy even though you might have mistaken it as such if you weren't paying attention to the lyrics. The song was so good that even though the band isn't really my style, I eventually picked up the self-titled album and I've been thoroughly impressed ever since I got it. The band is very unique-- the closest thing that I can compare them to is Cake, only, She Wants Revenge is very good, whereas Cake is usually either decent or extremely annoying. Fucking "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps"... I hate that damned song.
The whole CD is really great, through and through-- lyrically it's like Atreyu but not angry or screamy and very calm and thought out. It's a more direct, clear approach. Different, but I like it. The music is ... ... well I can best describe it as funk-techno-disc-club-dance-ratpack-jazz-electronica? Yeah. Something like that.
The one song that I've been listening to over and over again lately goes by the name of "
Someone Must Get Hurt". It's a great song with some absolutely amazing lyrics and an awesome rhythm.

She Wants Revenge - Someone Must Get Hurt Lyrics:
Please don't touch me, I've come too far to let you bring me down
You think that I'm easy but try as you might you can't have me now
These tedious dances we run through but I've memorized them all
I quietly melt down and consent to you if only just to bawl
As I stare through you and I stand quite still
And an alarm sounds just up the road
I can tell you'd like some company but I can't fix you when you don't want me
I call for a witness, present the facts right down to little things
They say the heart is resilient, in black and white you swore there'd be no strings
I sneak out the back door, but the gavel strikes
And I can hear you cry, under the sound of my footsteps
This time there will be no long goodbye
As I stare through you and I stand quite still
And an alarm sounds just up the road
I can tell you'd like some sympathy but I can't fix you when you don't want me
How can I trust you? How could you need me now?
Its getting to be so cold, old
The decision is in and I won't break
You cut and you run with our lives at stake
Well someone might get hurt and it won't be me
The decision is in there will be no fight
It might sound cold but I know it's right
Cause someone must get hurt and it won't be meGreat song, amazing lyrics. I really recommend the CD, too-- if you like this song, you'll love the CD.
As usual, delete the MP3 after listening to it and I think everything should stay legal.
