you know, while i may not agree with the statements made by the author (hitman) i can totally  relate to the feeling of admiration and awe-ness by a  (game, cd, whatevs) beyond what others believe. there are many games that i love, and feel are great or near to perfection, that others disagree about.

theres just that feeling of being totally enamored by a (whatever) and idolizing it. it doesnt make you less shallow when judging it, it just shows that you maybe liked it a lot more than other people.

I hate to necro but I forgot to mention what a total peice of shit this game turned out to be.... as soon as I finished this game I took it to Gamestop and traded it in so I would never have to look at it again.  The sad thing is... I've played all of them, so I know all the back story and everything.  It's just a total ball of shit and anyone who thinks that this story is good is terribly terribly confused.

It is horribly written.  Again... anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.  It is horribly acted.  It's awful.  The gameplay is flawed.  Most cut scenes are boring.

This "game" is more of an interactive movie.  Which sounds like it could be a cool thing.  But it isn't.  Because of what I mentioned before...bad writing, bad acting.

I wouldn't have to be so damned hard on it if everyone wasn't going around giving it such perfect scores.  Fucking perfect 10's all over the place.  It's unbelievable.  I feel like I played an entirely different game than the one they are referring to.

but still appropriate because I was considering picking it up at one point and just need to hear someone who gave it an honest shot that it's not that great to tip the scales.

Zakathing refers to necro'ing something for a dumb reason.  Kolby had good reason, and hence, this was not a "Zakathed" post.  Nothing wrong with reviving an old thread if it is the best place to speak your mind and is on topic.

Agreed.  Can anyone confirm the time between "Start Game" and actually being able to control a character?  I heard it's something in the 10s of minutes.
