I just got back from a bangin' concert with Parkway Drive opening, those guys are awesome live.  Pretty much everyone that I went with that didn't know them was like "zomfgzor spewdgeszrorsz!"  I absolutely love those guys and I was highly impressed by their live presence.  The final song on their set was "Romance is Dead", and it was executed excellently.  I was fairly surprised to see that so many of the people at the concert knew the words-- Parkway Drive is all the way from Australia, so I didn't expect that.  I suppose this tour and their latest CD have really helped them catch fire.  At any rate, it was an awesome performance.

Dillinger Escape Plan and Every Time I Die were also there, but I wasn't all that impressed by either.  I don't know those bands extremely well, so I may not be the best source.  Every Time I Die played decently and were entertaining, but I distinctly remember being shocked at how terrible Dillinger was.

Headliner Killswitch Engage played well, as was expected, but what I did NOT expect was a HILARIOUS comedy routine between the members of the band.  Specifically, Adam "D" (guitar) and Howard Jones (vocals).  It was absolutely unpredictable and positively vulgar.  Needless to say I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I almost expected Bob Barker to tell me to start playing Plinko during the show...

I'm just going to say it out right.  Killswitch Engage used the theme song from the game-show "The Price is Right" as their introductory music.  Yeah, you read that right.

It was very confusing because for the first few seconds, the beginning of the uber-Metal Slayer song "Raining Blood" played, but a few seconds in, it transitioned into the PRICE IS RIGHT theme song.  The members of the band were introduced by name in Price is Right fashion "Howard Jones, COME ON DOOOOOWWWNNN!!" the whole time the Price is Right music was playing in the background.  It was pure genius and totally hysterical.

Then Adam the guitar player comes out, this guy was 100% retarded.  Only, in a good way.   He was draped in a magic Cape, wearing a ninja headband, and wore jeans that had been cut into strips past the knee, much to the fashion of some kind of denim grass-skirt.  He began strutting around the stage, flapping his cape as if it were a set of wings, and clucking like a chicken.

After he finishes clucking, the dude gets on the mic and says, in the most demonic voice he can muster, "Hi, I'm Adam.  I feed on MEAT, BEER, and the HOPES AND DREAMS of every 16 YEAR OLD GIRL in this building!!!!" ...and follows up with, "...and I will not be satisfied until I have the DNA of every 16 year old girl UNDER MY FINGER NAIIILLLSSS!!!"

To which Howard replies, "But Adam, Adam, you're so gay dude, you played DDR all day on the tour bus today... *starts mimicking DDR dance moves*" At which point, the spot light pans back over to Adam and the Price Is Right failure music plays, "*Womp wop bah bowwwwwww*" and Adam is all like "Fuck you, Jones!  You are the Gay-Lord!"  And they begin the set...

Mid set, Adam said something to the effect of, "Which little girl would like to eat my poop?!?!?!?!  Yes, ALL OF YOU!!!!!"

Before they were demanded back out for an encore, the band played an awesome rendition of "The End of Heartache", where the crowd all sang in unison without Howard really saying a word.  It was a very intimate experience, The Pageant theater is a small venue but very tightly packed and you are literally RIGHT next to the performers.  It was fucking awesome.  Killswitch Engage isn't as good of a band as Parkway Drive in my opinion, but they sure do know how to put on one fucking hell of a great show, the funniest I've ever seen from a band for sure.

I definitely recommend you see them, even if you aren't a huge fan.  I'm a fan but not a die-hard fan, and I was really impressed.  After they finished the night with their cover of Dio's "Holy Diver", Adam concluded with another speech, "If I had 2,000 dicks, I'd fuck each and every one of you!"

So, go see Parkway Drive and lawl at the fantastic Killswitch Engage when they come to your town on their tour!

sounds like a fun show. dillinger do suck since the loss of their drummer, chris pennie, and ETiD are atrocious. but killswitch and parkway drive are enjoyable.

Horizons is FUCKING awesome.  The first disc, Killing With a Smile is also amazing.  I used to like Killing with a Smile better but I think I'm leaning towards an even ground for the 2 Albums.  It's nice to know that you know about Parkway Drive.  They're quite awesome and still somewhat unknown.

If you like breakdowns similar to Parkway, then check out this other Ausi band.

I Killed The Prom Queen.
There lyrics are a little odd, and isn't the best band out there. But they do have some talent.

Very true.  I certainly hope you're not hinting to Parkway though.  You'd be sorrily mistaken!

no... breakdowns are what bad bands rely on to get popularity on.
No, the few breakdowns that parkway do are actually good. And kag, do 8 years of trumpet and music theory, then talk to me about knowing about music. I know my shit. I live and breath music. I've been playing music since i was 8, i've been deep into it as long i can remember. I play in 2 bands right now, and am slowing working on original songs. Don't tell me i don't know music.

no, im saying mass produced music designed for nothing more than selling to a stereotype is bad. I only made that point because you seemed to think i knew nothing of music, i was just showing that i did. listen to what you will, but there is always much better stuff once you get away from the labels and stuff that gets major airplay.
