While this is an obvious strawman, it's a valid one. I still support Occupy WallStreet--there are still very real issues that need to be addressed with our economy--but it's undeniable that a significant portion of the OWS protestors are just there to complain with no real reason.
With that in mind, I don't think this is specific to OWS though. Every movement has a large base of supporters that don't really "get it" and are just protesting to fit in / for bad reasons.
For comparison's sake, let's take a smart conservative point (let's say gun control). It's backed by intelligent people who understand that guns should be able to be purchased and used by responsible parties. However, it's primarily vocalized by by jesus-loving gun-crazed idiots who want to buy an AK-47 to shoot squirrels. The base point is true, but it gets overshadowed by the the crazy vocal majority. You always get a large amount of support from dumbasses who don't really get it.
